Northeast Woodlands Bowl
Wood: Ash Burl
c. 1700 (or earlier)
17 3/4"Diameter, 5 1/2" Height

A very early Northeast Algonquian (New England) bowl masterfully hewn from a great specimen of ash burl. The remarkably thin round bowl, with undulating rim and a proportionally wide basin, sits atop a subtle foot treatment.

Remains of an ancient thread repair on one side.
